Experience and Technology
Tech Essay
We, so often stop and admire and thank the change in humanity due to technology but rarely do we see, right in front of us, the loss of how the mind and experiences work. Not to preach, but certainly encouraging pause to reflect some of the major ways, that me and everyone older and me and everyone younger will aggressively different lives due to
Loss of attention span
My generation had time to live experiences and have memories as well, to recall, learn from, build a life of memories with strong emotions and meaning. We came from predominantly divorced parents so we interacted with more people on the TV or video game characters than human beings directly, yet we still had time, to think to reflect and envision to feel and to truly live. Nothing made us and our attention and experiences a slave so young that we never went outside or never wanted to interact with people, everyone older had summer camps and sports and books and things to learn and share in real life.
Concerts, lectures, books, we had to face head on awaiting eagerly only the experience then memory, now we as a social unit hold our phones between our senses and the environment and experience. And it's clear how much this affect people.
Yes technology can be so wonderful and is in provable ways, however people creating ways for AI to manipulate our psychology with every swipe and stare is where we have to ask about the disconnection kids have experienced who are younger than me.
At some juncture we went from information and self education has infinite potential so the internet is our best library, to social media which constantly beckons and beats us over the head with what some mock up of our psyche would want to experience supposedly which causes people to stop experiencing the rest of their senses or communicating the way we're supposed to, or experience life with drive toward any sort of meaningful purpose and pushing our infinite potential. How can we have the data back without the infrastructure for now banking and wef agendas? How can we get our experiences and lives back?
Well some of this is on us, to care and listen to our family and friends and inner voice, give ourselves time to live, not enslaved and wholly consumed by the tiny drip of happy we feel scrolling or clicking and staring, as opposed to what our sense pick up in the environment or having your mind in the moment, then secrets unlocked by meditation which are numerous can be accessed but we first must reclaim our minds mental furnishings and vibes, frequency, and humanity, our realness, so to speak.
